Isn’t it expensive?

Compared to the $150 that you could pay for a logo from a non-professional freelance designer on Fiverr, yes it is.

It’s important to stand out as a brand to be able to position yourself as a premium product or a service. Getting a strong brand identity gives you the opportunity to be taken seriously by large organizations, builds trust, and conveys stability. It shows commitment and scale that is directly reflected by the user.

Isn’t it cheap?

Starting our own company 5 years ago, we realized it's essential to carefully balance your financial resources, especially in the beginning. Even though we are a design and development studio, we understood that our identity and website are just a small fraction of the initial investment we had to make in order to build a sustainable company.

Throughout the years we saw a pattern in many startups we have worked with. What they have in common is that all of them have a lot of things to figure out when they're starting. From dealing with the legal aspects of creating a company, forming the right team, exploring the market, setting up the company processes and culture, and most importantly - developing their product or service.

Once they approach us they are having so much going on already. They are not certain how and where to start with building their brand identity. That's why we built Predesign™ - in order to help them shape their design needs and bring measurable value without wasting too much time and money.

In other words, quality is not sacrificed by paying a lower price. This is possible because of the highly streamlined design process that we’ve gone through and experienced numerous times.

Is it possible within five days?

Yes. We take the best practices from our years of experience in solving a wide variety of design problems. Not only the best practices but ones that actually bring value to the process. In other words, we have a strict BS-free process aimed at results. This, including our design team expertise, is what makes creating your high-quality identity in a short amount of time possible. Predesign is based on a design sprint concept by Ben Pieratt and reshaped to suit our expertise and process in order to deliver the best results possible.

How many revisions do I get?

There is no fixed number for design revisions. There's only day schedule, described in the sprint section above. This means that we will do as many changes as you'd like us to do but within the given timeframe and schedule.

With that said, we respect your expertise and your vision and we expect the same in return. We’ve been doing this for quite some time and reflect our expertise in the design solutions we offer. Make sure that the revisions are actually valuable and needed.

What if I don't like any of the proposed design directions?

If such a rare case happens there are two options:

A. Continue work with us within a new, extended timeframe and additional budget of €600, which will guarantee you at least two more logo directions.

B. Cancel the project and not pay the second instalment - the remaining 50% of the payment. This way you won’t be able to use any of the design assets we have already created.

Do you outsource projects?

No, we don't.

In the last 5+ years working as Oblik Studio, our main goals have always been to build a strong design team - from culture to skillset. We achieved that and now we use our team's full potential to do what we love most - solve design challenges.

We also believe in quality over quantity, so we take as many projects as we can deliver value for.

Do we have to sign a contract?

Yes, we do. We have drafted a contract that protects both parties. The contract states all the Predesign package components, such as the timeframe and deliverables list. The contract also contains texts regarding the copyrights of the identity that is designed for you and other important aspects that are drafted to protect your and our rights.

We will send you the contract for your review and if all is clear you have to provide your details for the contract. Once all details are filled in the contract we both sign it, and we are ready to start work on your identity.

Process

What do I need to prepare in order to start the 5-day design sprint with you?

First, we ask you to fill out our smart questionnaire form. The main thing we get from your answers is what is your own perception of your future brand. This will give us a direction of thinking and research.
‍
The form has some additional questions that are not directly related to the visual identity but their answers will give us the whole picture about the plans for your brand—what problem do you solve and who is your customer (target audience).

Second, we will need a list of identities you like and ones you don't like—and why. A list of your direct competitors will make it easier for both you and us to get on the same page faster. If you have a pitch deck already created, don't hesitate to share it with us.

To understand in detail what your company does, who is your competition, what is your competitive advantage, and what you want to achieve next is the key for us to create an identity that will unlock and achieve your success.

Last but not least, the more information you provide, the better end results we will achieve.

What is my involvement during the design sprint?

The 5-days design sprints are designed in a super optimal way to make it possible to deliver high-quality visual identity. A huge part of that process is the collaboration with you - the stakeholder. This means that during the 5-day design sprint you must be available to review our proposals, discuss it with us and your team, and give us feedback within the stated timeframes. We will make this process as easy as possible for you.

What is the payment process?

The payment is split into two parts - 50% due to the beginning of a project, 50% upon delivery, no exceptions. Yes, it's a streamlined process too.
‍
Before we set the kick-off date, we have a contract created and signed, and you should have the first payment of €1000 made.
‍
Then, on the delivery Day 5 (usually on Friday), the second payment is being made right before we send you the entire package with ready-to-use and source files.

What should I do once my visual identity is completed?

Start using it to unlock the successful future of your company! No, seriously - it depends on your company and goals.

Most likely, there are a few practical steps you can makes:
‍
1. You'd want to update your social media profiles with the new avatars and cover photos.
‍
2. You have to implement your 10 Slides Pitch Deck Template from the graphic editor (Figma) to your presentation software by choice (Microsoft Powerpoint, Apple Keynote, or Google Slides). Note that if you feel comfortable with Figma you can keep your deck in it and export it directly as PDF.

3. We send the business cards in a print-ready format, and all you have to do is to go to your print house of choice and select the paper that suits you best. The print house will take care of the rest.

4. Make sure you maintain a consistent brand presence throughout all channels and places your identity is used.

Services & Partnerships

I need a few changes after the visual identity is completed

Once we deliver all of the materials defined by the Predesign™ Package, we can make additional changes on the identity and its materials only as a separate contract, based on a custom quote, defined by your request and needs.
‍
A piece of advice, before going for any change, collect data - interview people and get feedback, analyze the industry that you are in, etc. This will make the outcome of the next design iteration more efficient.

Can I get both logo designs?

Building a brand and using it consistently contradicts having two identities and we don’t recommend it.

However, if you have a good reason to want both directions developed, we can develop the other direction for you for an additional €500 in a few workdays after finishing the main direction.

I need a website, can you help?

Yes, we can, and you will be happy with the results. However, this is not a part of the Predesign™ package, so you have to send us an additional quote at hello@oblik.studio.
